I recieved an e-mail from Molly Bail on Saturday night with an update on the situation in Kenya. Her e-mail reads:"Dear Friends,The violence in Kenya has spread to the Nakuru area. Please pray for the safety of Joseph & Jotham, and his family, and all involved. There is a military presence there rightnow so we are hoping that will quell some of the violence. Please pray for Their friend George who was hacked by a machete this morning. He has 3 children, and is going to school to be a Pastor. Jotham & Pastor Lloyd took him to the hospital.Pray for our boys Joseph, and Dominic, as they have been forced from their tiny little home, and we are hoping that they are heading to the police Dept to find refuge.Pray for our friend Joseph Wangombe. The thugs came to where he is housing refugees , and tried to knock the walls down to get to them. These people have already lost their homes, and family members. Please pray for all the innocent people being victimized by this atrocity. These people have done nothing, and we need you all not to forget them. There are so many more stories so just pray that this ends, and that they all remain safe." The people mentioned above are all people that Kyle, Steve, Ashley and I know personally. I also learned from Molly that riots broke out in the city Nakuru(the place where we stayed) in broad daylight. People were being grabbed out of their cars and hacked with machetes and some cars were being set on fire with people still inside. Joe planned to leave Kenya on February 6th, but because of the violence he is trying to leave this tuesday. Please pray for Joe to arrive home safely and for peace in Kenya. Last night I was reading 2 Thesssalonians 2:16 & 17-
"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word."
I felt burdened to pray this for the church in Kenya and specifically for the church we were part of, All Nations Springs of Life Church. They need strength and encouragement in this time of need. We aren't physically there but we can uphold them with our prayers. I'm urging you to join in the prayer for violence to end and for God to arise in Kenya! Thank you. -Bailey
